Out of the Obscure

The images in this series appear out of darkness and have an enigmatic and ambiguous feel to them. They are not quite murky or opaque, more mysterious with a mystical edge.

In the above two clumsy sentences most of the nouns are meanings for obscure when you look the word up in Google or a dictionary.

So the images appear out of darkness and sometimes feature shades of  black and red but not always, insects are half hidden in the darkness.

The reds contain Red currants, Rose hips, glorious ageing red apples and Poinsettia those amazing red flowers at Christmas time. There are Chilli peppers with heads torn out of old magazines and collaged on the peppers.

I was very fortunate to be given a Gold for this image at the Association of Photographers Awards in London.
